Meet some of our animals!

  • Dilly

Sweet and calm, Dilly is a Nubian dairy goat. She is about 6 years old and came to us after she was retired from the dairy. Dilly is super curious about everything. She loves scratches behind the ears, blackberries and hanging out with her fellow Nubians, although she gets along well with all the goats.

  • Annabelle

Annabelle is Nigerian Dwarf that came to us from a dairy that was over populated. She is very independent and would like to be leader of the pack but doesn’t quite want all the responsibility. She loves to climb and is sometimes caught on the roof of the shelter.

  • Candytuft

Candy came to live here when her owners could not take care of her. She had to have 3 eye surgeries a couple years ago for a very bad infection but has been in great health ever since. She is the smallest and the loudest of our chickens.

  • Dahlia

Dahlia was tossed over the fence of another sanctuary along with many others. She came to us with 7 of her flock. She does not like to stay in the chicken area and can often be seen flying over the fence to get into the garden and eat the tomatoes.

  • Cookie

Cookie was a 4H goat that wasn’t sent to auction but needed a permanent home. She is about 7 years old. She has arthritis but we are managing it well with medication. She likes hanging out with the pigs because they leave her alone and can often be found bedding down in the pig stall with them.

  • Douglas

Douglas came to us from California with two of his sisters. His mother was saved from slaughter without knowledge that she was pregnant with 8 piglets! Douglas is gentle, sweet and will sit all day long for animal crackers. He loves to flop down for belly scratches and obviously, he also loves mud. But, what pig doesn’t!
